One of the most popular languages of web programming PHP in October will pass in version 5.3 stage. In the beginning of next month there should be a first beta version of the new version of language. According to the technical director of company Zend Technologies, Andy Gutmansa, one of the most significant works which will be conducted in PHP 5.3 there is an improved support of operating system Windows.

"The community of developers works over creation of considerably more optimised binary set PHP for Windows, which will be create on the basis of the advanced compilers Microsoft to achieve a productivity maximum", - he has told.

In version 5.3 support of the expanded space of names, possibility of more flexible mixing of code PHP and other languages, new access mechanisms to SUBD, drivers for work with graphic formats and support XML is declared. Gutmans also has told, that version 5.3 will allow to create modular applications with which it will be possible to expand with new functions at any moment with minimum expenses, transmits CyberSecurity.

Separately in Zend say, that version 5.3 will revise client library of communication with MySQL for more dense integration and productivity increase. Despite it, the appendices written with allowance for 5.2 will be completely compatible to the new version.

The most appreciable possibility PHP 5.4 become archives PHAR which will allow to pack into the archives of the php-appendix consisting of many files. The given concept will be similar to archives JAR in the environment of Java.

Support of system of localisation will improve also - in the new version there will be library ICU (International Components for Unicode), that will allow to sort and remove more flexibly data in different languages.

Let’s remind, that earlier final version PHP 5.3 was planned in the end of this year, however now in Zend say, that most likely the release will take place only in 1 quarter 2009.
