The underwater fiber-optical network for Africa is placed in operation
Underwater fiber-optical network SEACOM by extent in 17000 km and throughput 1,28 terabit in a second is placed in operation. The new network will give to the countries of southern and east Africa an exit in global communication networks through India and Europe. The structure of network SEACOM includes transport branches in Iogannesburg, Nairobi and Kampala and land stations in a coastal zone. Direct communication channels with Kigali and Addis Ababa in the near future should be constructed.
