Marshall Islands remained without e-mail
Inhabitants of Marshall Islands on Tuesday, on June, 24th, have appeared cut off from the international mail traffic, the Tape referring to France Presse informs . There was it after networks of the unique provider working on islands, have undergone to spam attack.
Representatives of National telecommunication agency (the unique inetrnet-provider of Marshall Islands) have informed, that the big stream of the spams-letters containing various viruses has fallen upon their network. The total amount of the entering traffic a a result has exceeded throughput of networks four times.
From the international mail streams it has appeared it is cut off not only the 55-thousand population of Marshall Islands, but also all organisations of region.
While in a network of National telecommunication agency spam attack has not affected the mail traffic. However spams-messages from an external network have already started to get into a local network of the provider.
The management of Marshall Islands has underlined, that the given kiber-attack became the first from the moment of Internet occurrence in the country. Its first signs have been fixed by National telecommunication agency on June, 23rd.
