Lenovo Group begins check of Olympic IT Systems

Olympic games in Beijing start in August, however already now the basic IT Contractor of action Chinese Lenovo Group begins the last check of all computer systems serving Games, informs CyberSecurity.

More than 300 engineers and system administrators should check up about 30 000 servers, laptops, workstations, networks, printers, scanners and the other equipment. Simultaneously wth equipment check it is planned to conduct and scale doctrines on a case of occurrence of the non-staff situations connected with failure of this or that equipment.

"The primary goal of forthcoming tests consists in necessity to check up how much well interacts the equipment and the people operating it", - speaks Bean Reydzh, representative Lenovo.

As inform in Lenovo, on Olympic games 700 servers Lenovo SureServer R520, SureServer T350 and SureServer R630, 24 000 desktop personal computers ThinkCentre M55e, 800 laptops ThinkPad T60, 2000 desktop printers and other equipment will work. Directly during games in Beijing 580 engineers round the clock will work, and they will work with its full complement from August, 7 till August, 24th, any reduction of the staff depending on volume of journalists is not planned.

Organizers inform, that load on IT Systems will be various depending on quantity of the competitions which are passing in this or that day. For simulation 3 most loaded days have been chosen. Besides, engineers should have some stock of engineering on a loss or breakage case already forms.

It is expected, that 95 % of the equipment from June, 10 till June, 12th will be involved. During competitions computers and engineering will be accessible to the accredited press daily from 6 mornings till midnight.

Let’s remind, that all for 17 days in Beijing there will pass 302 various sports meets. Besides Lenovo, in the action IT Organization also participates French Atos Origin, responsible for system integration, and Samsung which is taken by the organisation of network interaction and wireless services.
