Laptops at last have overtaken desktops
Research company IDC has informed, that in the third quarter in the USA there was a historical event: for the first time sales of laptops have bypassed desktop personal computers. The share of laptops has made 55,2 % of deliveries of consumer computing decisions, all on the American market has been put 9,5 million laptops of various manufacturers.
According to IDC, annual growth of a share of portable computers has made 18 %. For last 4 years the number of users of laptops has considerably grown, however, in the markets of the ajority of the countries desktop personal computers still prevail.
Among the reasons of such popularity leptopov researchers name convenience, price advantage (especially it concerns production of the top price segment), and also the traditional splash in demand observed in this period, as parents and schools buy computers for children.
The first five of leading world manufacturers declares a prevalence of sales of laptops over desktop personal computers. So, Acer and Lenovo inform, that 65 % from all sales are necessary on a share of laptops.
Researchers predict, that further manufacturers will increase volumes of release of mobile computers and will aggressively advance them in the market, declining consumers to idea, that to one user not to do without in any way several laptops: for work, for the house, + netbuk, just in case. Besides, it will be supported with the further reduction of prices.
Besides it in IDC are assured, that the next year becomes year of laptops in the environment of small and average business. Earlier in this sector desktop decisions, as to large business dominated, the majority of its representatives for a long time already have estimated convenience of mobile computers. In 2009 small and average business also will pass to use of laptops.
