Google leases the earth from NASA for construction of the research centre

The American space agency and company Google have informed today on signing of the agreement of long-term lease of 17 hectares of the earth in territory of the Research centre of NASA to them Eymsa, transmits CyberSecurity. The new area is possessed near to headquarters Google in I Mauntin-twist (California).

Under terms of an agreement, the prisoner for 40 years, Google will be paid by $146 million for the leased areas and will construct on them the new centre where offices and laboratories a total area of 110 000 squar metres will place. It is expected, that building will be finished by 2013, to work in the centre 20 000 persons will come nearby.

"This long-term agreement is a key component of strategy of expansion of presence Google in the Silicon valley", - vice-president Google Devid Redkliff speaks.

In press release Google it is told, that the bargain was discussed from last year, it bases on the partner agreement concluded between NASA and Google in September, 2005. Then the parties have agreed to co-operate in business of joint space and technological researches.

Annually for lease of territory Google will transfer NASA on $3,66 million, however in the long term this price can be revised depending on market conditions. Besides, in the agreement it is noticed, that Google has the priority right of extension of lease to 50 years.

The exact data, concerning missions of the centre, in Google yet do not disclose, saying only, that it will be mainly used for creation of the new technologies uniting space researches and information technologies.

On the money of NASA obtained from lease is going to purchase new the equipment for the Center it Eymsa.
