Google have allowed to photograph the British cities

Internet companies Google have allowed to photograph streets of the British cities for placing of pictures in service Google Street View.

The corresponding decision was accepted organisation Information Commissioners Office (ICO), the personal information responsible for protection in the Great Britain.

Experts ICO have considered, that the technologies used Google, will allow to make the details of pictures containing the private information, unrecognizable. In particular, persons of people, and also automobile numbers, in pictres in Google Street View will be automatically covered.

Also representatives ICO have underlined, that Google aspires to receive panoramic images of urban streets and does not pursue the aim to photograph people. Besides, service Street View cannot be used for shadowing citizens as between photographing and occurrence of pictures on the Internet there passes a lot of time.

Service Google Street View has been started in May, 2007. Now it contains panoramic pictures of streets of large cities of the USA that allows to walk virtually on them. For photographing of streets Google uses special cars with the automatic cameras fixed on a roof.

In May of a current year company Google had been started the system covering the persons in photos in service Street View. On its working out at Google has left about one year. To develop the program of puttying of persons in the searcher have begun after in Google Street View has been decided to add pictures of streets of the European cities as differently the company would infringe the European legislation on protection of a private life, writes citcity.ru
