Giga-IR: the high-speed Ik-interface
Company KDDI has demonstrated 2008 new wireless standard of communication Giga-IR at exhibition Wireless Japan.
It bases on the infra-red protocol and allows to carry out data transfer with a speed 1 Gbit/with. Predictably, the given technology will be used for data transfer (basically, the big files of music and video) from one mobile phone on other or on the personal computer, TVs, DVD-players etc.
To finish standardization Giga-IR KDDI plans in March, 2009. First the standard was called EFIR, but then, after a specificatio final wording, has been renamed. Works Giga-IR not on the basis of light-emitting diodes, as usual IrDA, and by means of the laser. Under application KDDI, for the speed 1 Gbit/with it is possible to transmit for 1 second between systems of 20-30 musical tracks, writes mobile-review.com
