According to NPD Group, in 1998 computer projects have brought to publishers of $1,8 billion. At that time the share of PC games in the market made 32,72 percent.

In 2007 of sale of these projects have reached only a mark in $910 million. Even if to take into consideration not considered incomes (for example, from digital distribution) the total sum will not exceed $1,37 billion, that almost for 25 percent more low, than in 1998.

At the same time demand for games for consoles grows practically every year. If in 1998 publishers have received from sales of these projects of all $3,7 billion in 2007 this indicator has reached a point in $8,6 billion. According to analysts, the industry of computer games is gradually transformed in nishevyiy the market with a small amount of exclusive projects.
