Dell will equip the laptops with HSPA-modules from Ericsson
Companies Ericsson and Dell have informed, that laptops of the last will be equipped with access modules to mobile broadband HSPA-networks in three frequency ranges, supplying thus uninterrupted roaming. Dell will start to equip laptops manufactured by it with such HSPA-modules from Ericsson, since the second quarter 2008.
For today HSPA the widespread technology of mobile broadband access in the world – on its basis it is developed more than 185 HSPA-networks serving more of 1 billion of subscribers on a commercial basis.
<>Besides other, in the module the receiver of GPS-signals is built in and it can be used together with appendices of definition of co-ordinates on district. Representatives Ericsson notice, that thanks to microcircuits of own working out, to the big scales of production and long-term cooperation with numerous communication statements, the company has an opportunity to offer the competitive decision of mobile broadband access which will promote creation of the mass market of services of mobile broadband communication.
According to data of marketing researches by 2011 it will be annually sold about 200 million laptops. Half from them, under forecasts Ericsson, will be equipped by the built in module of mobile broadband communication with support of technology HSPA.
