Company Liquavista will spend $12 million for creation of an electronic paper of new generation

Scientists from British company Liquavista have begun work on new generation of an electronic paper, informs Lenta.ru. Investments into the given project which is calculated for three years, will make 12 million dollars.

At the heart of a new electronic paper the technology electrowetting which will allow the carrier to display bright colours at minimum energopotreblenii will lay. The prospective quantity of colours which electronic paper Liquavista can display, is not informed.

Developers underline, that image change with the nw carrier will occur very fast. It is supposed, that it will allow to look on electronic paper Liquavista videoclips.

Now the electronic paper is used, in particular, in Kindle from Amazon.com and Sony Reader, the electronic books intended for reading. Time of updating of screens of these systems makes not less than one second.

electrowetting experts Liquavista will demonstrate technology at electronics exhibition in Hong Kong which will open on October, 13th.

In the middle of May of last year company LG.Philips has presented the first-ever colour electronic paper of format A4, the thickness of which one sheet makes 0,3 millimetres. The given paper is capable to display 4096 colours. On commercial use of the working out representatives LG.Philips have not informed plans.
