Cisco, SAP and Sun offer training courses and tests for compatibility for the built in IP-appendices

The group of leading suppliers and users of new technologies has generated alliance IPSO which will stimulate use of protocol IP.

"Clever objects" are objects of the physical world, which transmit the information (usually by means of the built in systems) about the condition or an environment condition (temperature, illumination, movement, working capacity etc.) exactly where these data are analyzed and correlated with other data for decision-making. These decisions can be applied to building automatic and energetically effecive systems of life-support in houses and office spaces, for technical support of an equipment facilities, tracing of movings of medical systems in hospitals and monitoring of a condition of patients, and also with the purposes of safety and conformity to legislative and standard requests.

New alliance IPSO will add efforts of organisations IETF and IEEE which develop and ratify technical standards for Internet community. IPSO will carry out tests for compatibility, to document use of new IP-technologies, to attend to marketing and to represent itself as storehouse of data for users who wish to understand role IP in the networks consisting of physical objects. The alliance will popularise advantages of convergence of the networks consisting of objects of any type, by means of technology IP.

Alliance IPSO was generated by companies Arch Rock, Atmel, Cimetrics, Cisco, Duke Energy, Dust Networks, EDF R&D, eka systems, Emerson, Freescale, IP Infusion, Jennic, Kinney Consulting, Nivis, PicosNet, Proto6, ROAM, SAP, Sensinode, SICS, Silver Spring Networks, Sun Microsystems, Watteco, Zensys and university of a city of Tampere (Finland).

According to Jeff Malligana (Geoff Mulligan), the branch adviser and the chairman of alliance IPSO, "for the last years protocol IP has proved to be the most effective and scaled network technology not only for traditional IT Sphere, but also in scenarios with the low capacity of a signal limited to memory, a difficult excited environment and tens thousand the systems working simultaneously without interference of the person. It became absolutely clear, that checked up and everywhere widespread IP-standard approaches for these purposes much better, than a set of the closed protocols which do not supply scalability and compatibility and require for the work of complex sluices with difficult procedures of installation and management. The alliance purpose - to give to our community it is more than information on" clever objects ", and also on branches and markets where these objects can be the most effective. We will publish practical examples and technical documentation, to trace specifications IETF and other standards, to show working decisions and to test them for compatibility and interaction ".

Alliance IPSO is opened for any organisation supporting use of IP-technologies for connection "clever objects". Membership in an alliance probably at two levels. Level under name Contributor includes a membership fee at a rate of 2.500 dollars a year. At this level the participant can use engineering specifications and practical experience of an alliance, participate in actions and be a part of committees, show the products at meetings, the exhibitions and other actions of an alliance, and also to include the products and services in the program of testing for compatibility. Level Promoter requires membership fees at a rate of 5.000 dollars a year. At this level the participant acquires a right voices and can be a part of board of directors of an alliance and head its committees.
