Cisco and Intel have published results of testing of productivity of technology 802.11n in real conditions
Tests have shown, that throughput of this technology five times exceeds a similar indicator of wireless local networks with specifications 802.11a/b/g. Higher speed of wireless data transfer will help to support work such resursoemkih appendices as video, and opens new possibilities for group work.
Joint decision Cisco and Intel 802.11n Draft 2.0 supports average throughput in 182 Mbit/with and peak throughput in 195 Mbit/with, that, accordingly, for 20 and 30 percent above, than at other corporate wireless technologies tested in similr conditions.
Testing was conducted in test centre Intel Casper (State of Oregon) where typical office environment has been constructed. All test scenarios completely were automated and repeated. During tests robots were actively used. Productivity of new technology was tested in following conditions:
• on a line of direct visibility and out of direct visibility;
• in the dense client environment;
• with systems of different capacity 802.11n Draft 2.0 and 802.11a/b/g;
• in the conditions of corporate roaming.
