Cisco and EMC expand cooperation in the field of protection of data

Companies Cisco and EMC declared intention to expand strategic cooperation and to offer customers complete decisions for protection of data which cover different levels of the IT Infrastructure, including storage systems, servers, networks and data-processing centres (TSOD). Both companies plan to use cooperation for working out of the integrated products, services and the front lines an expert leaning against resources and technologies Cisco, EMC and RSA (division EMS which is responsible for the decisions for safety). Confidential dat, hranimyie in data-processing centres, on desktop personal computers and servers will help customers to distinguish, protect, trace and use new decisions, and also to protect the information transmitted on corporate networks.

Cisco and RSA will co-operate in the various areas connected with technology DLP (Data Loss Prevention - prevention of loss of data) to offer corporate customers a wide set of professional DLP-services. Cisco namerena to integrate technology of classification of data from decision RSA® DLP Suite with functions Cisco DLP working at level of a network, desktop systems and servers. In turn, RSA will build in decision RSA® DLP Suite of function of definition and obligatory performance of safety rules Cisco. Besides, system RSA DLP Enterprise Manager will operate rules DLP both in decisions RSA, and in decisions Cisco. Cisco and RSA will co-operate also in the field of terminal network systems to supply the integrated protection of hosts-cars, management of safety rules and reliable protection of the information, hranimoy on desktop systems, mobile computers (laptops) and server platforms. As first step Cisco plans to expand functions DLP in appendix Cisco® Security Agent, having added to them technology of classification of data RSA. To operate new functionality it will be possible through control centre Cisco (Security Agent Management Center) or RSA (DLP Enterprise Manager).

Cisco and RSA will continue cooperation in the field of protection of data-processing centres, enciphering and key management. In the near future customers can cipher data, hranimyie on magnetic tapes (including virtual) by means of integrated systems Cisco MDS 9000 Storage Media Encryption (SME) and RSA® Key Manager. This integrated solution is planned to introduce to the market through channels of sales EMC in May, 2008. As a result corporate customers will have an opportunity to cipher confidential data on tape stores. Cisco and RSA will expand together functions of safety Cisco TrustSec for enciphering of transmitted data by means of platform Cisco Nexus 7000. To protect data in e-mail system, RSA namerena to achieve compatibility with technology Cisco Registered Envelope Service that will allow to cipher the privileged communications of e-mail which has been found out in network RSA DLP Network.

Cisco and RSA plan to expand typical architecture PCI (PCI Reference Architecture). As a result customers will have an opportunity to check the systems and to generate reports which will help to observe rules PCI. Wider typical architecture of safety will help customers to distinguish and trace a confidential information and to apply to it necessary measures of protection. Decision Cisco Lean Retail already today including five decisions RSA® PCI, is once again expanded. Its structure will include gateway screen Cisco ACE Web Application Firewall which will check and protect all data of Web-appendices, including inquiries HTML, XML and Web-services. It will allow customers to satisfy completely requests for gateway screens, which become obligatory for all systems of payment cards (Payment Card Industry, PCI) since June, 2008.
