Buyers do not refuse yet from DVD in favour of Blu-ray
The awareness of consumers on format Blu-ray grows, but difficulties will continue to accompany reception of new technology, experts of the analytical company NPD Group which have published this week the corresponding report confirm.
Earlier enthusiasts of high-quality video had to choose between Blu-ray and HD DVD, but in February of this year opposition of formats has ended. However it has not helped Blu-ray to win liking of consumers — manufacturers of the equipment still face problems because of heavy prices and unwillingnessof buyers to refuse from old kind DVD, quite satisfying their requirements, writes iXBT.
At the same time, the percent of holders of TVs of the high clearness informed on existence Blu-ray, for a year has increased with 35 to 45 %, data NPD testify. However, only 9 % from them are going to purchase the system with support Blu-ray till the end of a current year. In the general number of the those interrogated a share who is going to get the system, capable to reproduce disks of new generation, it is even less — 6 %.
