British have developed three-dimensional technology for invalids

The group of researchers of British university De Monfor (De Monfort University) has developed the technology allowing invalids to play such three-dimensional computer games as World of Warcraft, writes Лента.ru referring to New Scientist.

In the ninetieth years the systems which users could operate the cursor on the computer screen have already been developed, and also use virtual keyboards. Such systems have especially needed at defeat impellent neyronov, and also a sick cerebral paralysis.

Hadware basis of both technologies are the infra-red stereocameras tracing movements of an eye of the user. The new technique only adds the additional program possibilities similar to "gestures" by the mouse cursor which are familiar to users of some browsers. If fast to take away a sight for screen limits, it is possible to be switched, for example, in a mode regulating an inclination of the chamber or turn of three-dimensional object.

It is supposed, that the first tests of the program developed within the limits of European project COGAIN, will pass in 2009.
