Boeing has finished a hypersound rocket
Company Boeing has finished demonstration model of hypersound rocket HyFly.
Besides, the company carries on negotiations with management of forward planning of defensive research works of the Ministry of Defence of the USA (DARPA) for realisation of its next test.
As marks Flight Global, during two previous rocket firings could not reach settlement speed of M 6 (M - the number of the Move equal to speed of a sound).
First test HyFly has taken place in September, 2007. Then rocket dispersal has been blocked on a mark of M ,5 as a result of failure in the software. The arisen problem has been eliminated, however repeated start-up has ended on January, 16th, 2008 with falling of demonstration model to Pacific ocean, this time after failure of the fuel pump of the direct-flow propulsion jet engine.
In both cases start-up of rockets was carried out from a board of fighter F-15E. As representatives of company Boeing mark, control systems, navigation and prompting of demonstration model worked in a regular mode.
The purpose of program HyFly is creation of a pre-production model of a hypersound rocket of the land basing, capable to accelerate momentum over M 6 and to amaze the purposes on range to 1120 kilometres, the Tape writes
